Method
Prepare the Base
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Press the pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form a crust.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool completely.
Make the Cream Layer
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until fully combined.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
- Spread the cream mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
Prepare the Strawberry Layer
- In a separate bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with the prepared strawberry gelatin.
- Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream layer in the baking dish.
- Refrigerate the salad for at least 2 hours or until set.
Serve
- Once set, cut the salad into squares and serve chilled.
- Garnish with additional whipped topping or fresh strawberries if desired.
