Method
Prepare the Dough
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and chopped walnuts, mixing until the dough comes together.
Shape and Bake
- Using your hands, form the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
- Roll the warm cookies in the remaining 1 cup of powdered sugar until well coated.
Cool and Serve
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with additional powdered sugar if desired before serving.
