Ingredients
  

For the Beef Sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Gnocchi
  • 1 pound store-bought gnocchi
For Serving
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Beef Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
Cook the Gnocchi
  1. While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the gnocchi to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until they float to the top, usually about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Drain the gnocchi and add them directly to the skillet with the beef sauce. Toss to combine.
Serve
  1. Divide the gnocchi and beef sauce among serving plates.
  2. Top with grated parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil before serving.
