Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 6 cups stale bread cubed
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Topping
  • 1 cup whipped cream for serving
  • 2 tablespoons ground nutmeg for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Bread Pudding
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed stale bread and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and gently fold to combine, ensuring all bread is soaked. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
Serve the Bread Pudding
  1. Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  2. Serve warm with a generous dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground nutmeg on top.

Notes
