Method
Prepare the Filling
- In a small saucepan, combine dark chocolate chips and heavy cream over low heat. Stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly while you prepare the puff pastry.
Prepare the Pastry
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into squares (about 4x4 inches).
- Place a small spoonful of the chocolate filling in the center of each pastry square.
Assemble the Pastries
- Fold the corners of the pastry squares over the filling to form triangles and pinch the edges to seal.
- Transfer the pastries to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry for a golden finish.
Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack.
Serve
- Dust the pastries with powdered sugar before serving.
