Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt cake pan with baking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Turn the cake out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Glaze
- In a medium bowl, mix the cocoa powder and melted butter together until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until the glaze is thick but pourable. Adjust with more milk if needed.
- Once the cake is cool, drizzle the glaze over the top of the bundt cake.
