Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add in the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls
- Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them.
Second Rise
- Cover the rolls with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes or until puffy.
Bake the Rolls
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Finish and Serve
- Remove the rolls from the oven and brush with a little melted butter, if desired.
- Serve warm with apple butter spread on top.

Notes
For extra flavor, you can add cinnamon and nutmeg to the dough. Make sure the milk is not too hot when adding yeast to avoid killing it.
