Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk until steaming. Combine with active dry yeast and let foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  4. For the filling, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and walnuts in a bowl.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle (16×12 inches), spread the filling evenly, then roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
  6. Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar with bourbon and maple syrup; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
