  • 6 cups mixed apples (4 cups Granny Smith & 2 cups Honeycrisp)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss them with lemon juice in a large bowl.
  3. Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the apples; mix until evenly coated.
  4. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish. Pour in the apple mixture, dot with butter, then cover with the top crust.
  5. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top for steam vents.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
