Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a zip-top bag or shallow dish; pour marinade over the chicken. Seal or cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight).
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill.
  4. If baking, line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Arrange marinated thighs on the sheet (reserve some marinade for basting) and bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). If grilling, cook each side for about 6-8 minutes while basting with reserved marinade.
  5. Brush additional marinade onto each thigh during the last few minutes of cooking for extra glaze.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice or stir-fried veggies.
