  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mixed colors)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons chili sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until clear. Combine rice with 2 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef strips and sear for about 5 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in garlic and bell peppers; cook for an additional 3 minutes until softened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, chili sauce, and sesame oil. Pour the mixture over the beef and veggies; simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Fluff cooked rice with a fork and gently fold it into the skillet mixture until well combined.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.
